About Pam Muir
I started Leverage for the sole purpose of supporting small businesses and the amazing people behind them. My experience (more on that below) led me to understand this: a small business is sparked by a vision; once the business begins, the administrative work often detracts from the ability to keep full focus on breathing new life into that original vision.
In other words: I belive these amazing people behind a small business need more time to focus on the big picture instead of being stuck “in the weeds.” This is where I come in: I’ll be in the weeds for you, so you can think bigger.
More about my background:
My career truly began in the financial industry. I worked for two big banks in NYC where my responsibilities were heavy project management. This is where my organization, attention to detail, time management, analytical, and outside-the-box thinking skills really took root.
I ran and later owned a small business in Fairfield, Connecticut. During this time, I developed a deep appreciation for the tenacity, dedication, and vision it takes to run a small business. If you run or own a small business you already know: it’s not for the timid! I get it.
I’ve worked with individuals who had a skill they wanted to turn into a small business (think yoga teachers, artists, etc.). I helped them take this big idea and turn it into an achievable set of tasks. On an ongoing basis, I help them:
tackle new ideas
organize their thinking
brainstorm new ideas
implement new technology
manage their bookkeeping, prepare information for their certified public accountant, pay bills, etc.
Some people find it odd, but I LOVE the detail of keeping books, putting reports together, and looking at the data! So much so that I sought out a Bookkeeping Certification. As a result, I am a member of the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers and a Certified Public Bookkeeper.
